Memorial Obituary... Mt.Pleasant Morning Sun Sept 24th 1980.... Versal E. Hitchcock 510 Tyrell St. St. Louis <ichigan died Wednesday at Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma. She was 79. Services will be held Friday at 1 P.M. at Carter Funeral Home in St.Louis. The Rev. Robert Biddison will officiate and burial will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis. Mrs. Hitchcock was born November 3rd 1900 in Gratiot County, the daughter of Milton and Aletha (Gifford) Davis. On August 24th 1918 she was married to Charles E. Hitchcock in Ithaca. A member of the first Baptest Church of St. Louis. Mrs Hitchcock was also active in the Pioneer Girls organization. Survivors include three daughters Mrs Merlin (Vivian) Emlinger of Breckenridge, Mrs H Bruce (Ruth E) Ulsh of Mecosta and Mrs (Louise) Humphery of Alma. Four sons, Albert of Florida, Charles J of Grand Rapids, Jack E of Madison Wisconsin and Berdell of Taylor Mi. 22 Grandchildren and 32 Great Grandchildren.
